The main pages have three columns. The outside columns contain random clippings and notes. None of the pictures expand. The main narrative is in the center column. All pictures in the center column can be clicked on.
Expanded pictures display on one of three separate windows. These are best placed on a separate screen if you have the luxury of a two-screen setup. Once positioned, they will stay where you put them. So if you minimize one of them, it will stay minimized, even if you have selected a different picture to display.
To improve download speeds, some days have been split over two pages.
